FAQS

How do I buy?

It's so easy! All you need to do is go shopping. You can search by category (eg Denim or Pants) or by designer. Just go to the 'Shop By' drop down menu. You can also check out Miss Money Penny's stylist's fave's by clicking on the bottom right button on the Home page.

Once you have found something you love/want/want it NOW, add it to your basket, go to the checkout and proceed to pay through the Paypal secure payment gateway. Once your payment has been received, you will receive confirmation and the seller will be advised to dispatch your item by registered Express Post. Once you receive the item, email Miss Money Penny to confirm you have it and, if you like, leave feedback in the Social Life and Death section.

What are your costs?

Miss Money Penny charges 20% commission to the Seller on the total amount of the transaction. So, for example, if your item sells for a total of $100, including the postage, Miss Money Penny's commission is $20. Miss Money Penny does not charge listing fees so if your item does not sell within 3 months you pay nothing and have to option to take it off the site. That's all there is to it!

How do I sell?

Forget about trying to be creative with complicated layouts and descriptions. Simply take a digital photo of your item (see guidelines on the 'How To Sell' section and fill out the Selling Form template in 'Sell My Gear'. Miss Money Penny will do the rest. Please be aware of the brands and condition of items we take. We only sell what we think is great and won't take just any old item. If you're unsure just ask in  'Contact Us' or submit a pic on the selling form and we'll let you know.

Which brands do you take?

We take most designer and high end labels. A guide will be the Designer menu on the Shop page. We love near new or new with tags Australian labels too. If it's old, not in great condition, and something you wouldn't buy, it's probably not worth submitting. If you have a great brand which isn't listed, please let us know and don't be afraid to submit. The site is new and we can't possibly have every brand on here yet so please ask if you are unsure.

Do you have listing fees?

Nope. Zero. Nadda. Don't you hate it when the calculations are so complicated you just have do idea how much you ended up paying? More than you think. We just have the flat 20% of total sale price - if it sells. No fee it it doesn't.

Do I have to send an image?

Yes please. Our clients want to see what they are getting. Descriptions are great but, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

How are  postage costs calculated?

Most items will fit into an Express Post Registered envelope or 3 kg satchel which costs $11.30  to send within Australia.  The buyer covers this cost which is added to their item at checkout. If the cost is higher than the $12 within Australia, the seller cover the difference. International buyers similarly pay a flat fee for $24 for regular Registered Post (which can take up to 10 days depending on country) but are responsible for any import duties/ taxes imposed by their country.

What if I don't like the item I have bought?

There may be several reasons for you not being happy with your item. If it is simply the wrong size or colour or you just don't like it we can only offer a commission free listing for you to put it up on the site again an sell it. If the item however is not as described or in bad condition, the buyer should attempt to sort this out with the seller and arrange a return at the sellers cost. If an agreement cannot be reached, the buyer should contact Miss Money Penny and report the seller. Miss Money Penny will monitor feedback for repeat offenders and enter their details in the 'Social Death' section of the website. More than one bad review will result in them from being banned from selling on the site.

What if the seller does not deliver my item?

If the seller does not deliver your item a refund will be issued if the seller cannot provide tracking details for the Express Post satchel or envelope. The Seller is required to use registered Express Post and the buyer will need to sign for delivery. If there is no tracking number and the item has never been sent then the buyer gets a full refund.

Are my banking details secure?

Yes. Miss Money Penny uses PayPal. PayPal offers fast, easy and secure payments worldwide and is Australia’s preferred way to pay online*. With PayPal you can provide a great shopping experience to your customers and turn them into loyal shoppers.

Buyers love PayPal because

• they can complete the purchase in as little as 2 steps,
• they don’t need to disclose their personal financial information,
• they can choose how to fund the payment (credit or debit card, bank account or PayPal balance).

Do I need a PayPal account to purchase from the site?

No, you don't. You can simply do a one off transaction and still pay by credit card or via your bank account.

How do I price my item?

Please see price guidelines on the 'How to Sell' page. The general rule of thumb is that, if it's still practically new with or without tags then roughly 50% of the rrp is a good guide. Also look out for how unique the product is and if it is currently being sold at a discount at retail outlets. You want to beat that price. At the end of the day, the seller sets the price with Miss Money Penny's blessing. If it's OTT then you won't sell it so it makes sense to price according to value.

How long will my items stay on the site?

If items are priced right they should sell within a month or two. If they don't , they move to the Cheap & Chic / Sale section of Miss Money Penny with a further discount of 25% off. We ask your permission first to do this and you are free to take them off if you don't wish to discount. If they don't sell in Cheap & Chic after a month we'll let you know and you can take them down, final discount them or dontate them to charity.

What if they don't sell?

If your items do not sell after 90 days we will let you know and you can decide what you want to do. You may choose to donate them to your nearest charity or hang on and try again (as the problem may even be seasonal with people not wanting to buy winter clothes in summer, etc). If it's great, it should sell.

How will I know about sizing?

Generally from the research we have done, women are aware of the different sizing peculiarities of the brands they love. If not, there is a sizing chart on the site and, failing that, you can always Contact Us and request further information on measurements from the seller.

What if I have a further questions about the items and the info is not listed?
Please feel free to use the 'Contact Us' form and we can email the seller and ask on your behalf.

How many images may I submit up per item?

Up to four. Various angles are ideal for showing detail on your item. There is usually one hero image featured and then several smaller pics to show close ups and detail of the item.

What condition or age do items need to be to get onto the site?

It should go without saying that all items sold on this site are premium and in good to excellent condition. Any alterations made to clothing must be mentioned in the item description. Generally we accept clothing which is brand new with tags, new without tags, worn only a few times, or less than threee years old. The exception to this rule is the Vintage category where items are 10 years + old but they still need to be in good condition.

How do I know if my item has been sold?

Miss Money Penny will send you an email when your item has been sold and the payment has gone through. The item will be removed from the website. You will then be asked to send the item by registered Express Post to the buyer. It is essential you use registered mail in order to be paid upon confirmed receipt of the item from the buyer.

What happens if my item is lost in the post?

A legal requirement of this site is that sellers use registered Express Post which provides a tracking number to avoid any lost mail or disputes. The seller is required to provide a tracking number to Miss Money Penny when requested and should also advise when the parcel receipt is confirmed.

How will I know if the item is authentic and not a fake?

Hmmm. Now this is a difficult one. While Miss Money Penny casts a stern eye over all the merchandise posted on the site, it can be difficult to id the really good fakes from the real deal. That said, Miss Money Penny would ask that if the seller still has receipts or proof of purchase - especially of handbags, they supply this info when selling. This will make everyone much more comfortable and build trust. If we find out via feedback that an item is a fake we will ban the seller from selling again on this site. Our terms and conditions are legally binding and clearly state that sellers must not sell counterfeit goods on the site. We will also do our best using our expert stylist's discerning eye to vet anything iffy and ask for proof. You don't get this on sites where anyone uploads any old thing.
