How to Sell

Miss Money Penny does most of the work for you. All you need to do is, take a digital photo of your item, (see photography guidelines below for help), and fill out the Selling Form, and we do the rest.

To Sell right away simply go to 'Sell My Gear' from the home page.

Miss Money Penny does not charge listing fees rather, she charges a flat 20% commission on the total sale when it sells. The Seller sets the price they would like for their item (see guidelines below).

It may take longer to sell your items but, if they are the great quality, we expect you should not have to wait long and will get the price your clothes and accessories deserve. Allowing more time just means the right audience is browsing your gear and won’t miss seeing it if it comes off the site in a week – well that’s if it’s not snapped up right away!

Snap shot in 5 easy steps

1. Fill out the Selling Form on the site
2. We List the item for you (within 1-3 days) OR tell you it is not accepted
3. We email you when it sells with details on where to send
4. You send it to the buyer
5. We pay you - less 20% commission

In Detail darlings...

How it works

    * Seller takes a digital picture of item (see guidelines)
    * Seller completes 'Selling Form' in the 'Sell my Gear' section.
     * Miss Money Penny accepts or rejects item/items confirming by email.
    * Item is posted to the website (new stock is uploaded twice weekly).
    * Buyer searches by brand, size or category
    * Buyer adds to cart and pays Miss Money Penny via secure Paypal gateway
    * Miss Money Penny emails seller advising them that the item is sold and provide Buyer details for postage
    * Seller posts item to Buyer by Express Post
    * When the item is received the Buyer advises Miss Money Penny via email
    * Miss Money Penny then pays Seller – less 20% commission of total sale amount into Seller bank account as
        supplied
    * NB: Payments to Sellers are made once per week each Friday
    * Bad feedback goes into ‘Social Death’ section on Miss Money Penny site so frequent offenders are identified
    * If you at any time wish to change the price of your item, or ‘unlist’ you can simply email Miss Money Penny and
she will update this for you as long as it is before a purchase has been  made.

'Just Do It For Me' Service - alternative option to online submissions.

  * If the selling form is all a bit too hard and you're not au fait with digital images, you can simply email Miss Money
Penny a rough image and description of the item you wish to sell and, if it's right for the site, send it to Miss Money
Penny via registered post. Email admin@missmoneypenny for this option.
  * Miss Money Penny will then photograph your item and post in on the site herself.  No more work for you - just
accessing your bank account if and when it sells.
*  Miss Money Penny takes a higher commisson for this service of 50% as opposed to 20% online - but only if your
item sells! Items can be requested to be returned to Seller at anytime (at Sellers expense).

Satisfaction guarantee

*If you are unhappy with the item you have received from a seller due to it being the wrong fit or colour (not if it is
damaged - see 'disputes' below), Miss Money Penny is happy for you to re-list the item on the site for the same price
    as purchased COMMISSION FREE.

Clothing & Accessories accepted

    * Only Designer or ‘Brand’ clothing accepted – see brands in our Designers list. If you have something great that's not
on here just ask. We are constantly adding fabulous brands.
    * Must be in excellent, or at least good, condition and this must be stated in the description
    * Must be less than 3 years old – or a classic
    * No used swimwear, underwear or basic cotton items (like T-shirts, singlets - things that age quickly)
    * Must be dry cleaned or cleaned according to label instructions

Guidelines

Photographic

  •    * The better your product looks, and the more detail you can show, the better chance of selling your item fast.
                  •    * On your digital camera, please photograph item on a white background (a sheet is fine) or dark background for
                                        •        light coloured items.
        •    *  Make sure the shot is well lit and shows length of garments as well as any fabric and other detail.
        •    *  Ensure the image has plain background with nothing else cluttering the image.
   * On body (below neck) or mannequin is best but hung or laid flat for jeans/pants also fine. Jeans/pants – side-on
or on body (cropped at waist) look great. (see examples on the site).
   * Show any detail (eg. close ups of lace trim)
   * Set camera to a medium resolution (eg 1024x768 pixels or 200dpi)
   * Deep etched (no background with white space around) is ideal if your camera has  an editing program to do this.

Pricing your item

    * As a general rule, start with 50% of original purchase price if the item is near new or still has tags. For gently worn
items in good condition, around 25% of RRP is advisable. This may vary from item to item and is up to you the
seller. You set the price but the more realistic for the buyer the faster you will sell. If your item is not selling you
may revise the price at any time by advising MMP via email. If the item has been on the site for 60 days and has
not sold, it goes into the Cheap and Chic section with a further 25% off.

Payment

    * Buyer adds to cart and pays Miss Money Penny via secure Palpal gateway (a Paypal account is not required)
    * Miss Money Penny advises Seller by email that their item has sold and gives Buyer details to arrange dispatch
    * Seller posts item to Buyer
    * Buyer confirms receipt of item and leaves feedback
    * Miss Money Penny then pays Seller , less 20% commission of total sale amount, into bank account # as supplied.
    * Payments are made each Friday after the item has been confirmed received by the Buyer)
    * Feedback goes into ‘Social Life & Death’ section on Miss Money Penny site. Frequent negative feedback results in
that Seller being banned from selling on the site.

Description definitions

  •    * Good – has been worn, may have a few flaws (which need to be mentioned) but is otherwise in sound structural
  •       condition. Refers mainly to Vintage and older items.
  •    * Excellent – Has been worn and washed or dry cleaned but retains near original appearance and structure
  •    * As New – probably only slipped on once or twice and you couldn’t really tell if it had ever been worn
  •    * New No Tags – has never been worn but the tags have been removed
  •    * New With Tags – Never been worn – tags still attached

*We do not accept anything in ‘Fair’ condition
*Any samples, seconds with flaws must be clearly described.

Postage costs

   * Buyer pays delivery costs which are set rates at the checkout. Buyer chooses Australia or International delivery.
   * Rates for delivery within Australia are a flat $12 Express Post envelope or satchel per item (as they usually
come from separate sellers) . The seller is responsible for any amount over $12.
   * International Postage rate is $24 for Registered Post and delivery is made in 10 days. It is likely that
international orders could attract a customs fee, tariff and/or import duty applicable to the country of entry. These
are to be paid directly by the customer and Miss Money Penny is not responsible for these charges.
   * See Australia Post website at www.auspost.com.au and go to Express Post rates.
   * It is essential that Seller uses Express Post in order to track delivery and receipt of goods in order to get paid.

Sending to buyer

    * Ensure item is dry-cleaned and in the condition you would like to receive it
    * Wrap in white tissue paper and place in a plain bag
    * Add a print out of the Miss Money Penny listing page with item on it and a nice note thanking the buyer

Feedback / Disputes /Returns

    * The store runs on the goodwill of the seller. If a buyer receives an item which is not in great condition and is
unhappy they may supply feedback to appear in the ‘Social Life & Death’ section. Conversely, if you are thrilled
with your item by all means report in!
    * The Buyer is also obliged to be honest – if the issue is not a quality one (eg the size is wrong) then the buyer can
       re-list the item themselves
    * If Buyer is unhappy with item and wishes to re-list – Free Of Charge / No Commission to Miss Money Penny
    * Two Social Deaths and you’re out – no more selling on Miss Money Penny.
